Wait gratitude? Huh?! Here we go with some inspiring, and boring blog….
NOPE.
You see I was the same way when I heard that word till I started doing research and putting it into practice.
So how does being grateful help us? I will show you! A recent study done by a University showed that those who were grateful or attempted to be lived happier lives and smiled more. Shocking?! I know, trust me I was in the same boat!
1. Gratitude makes us happier – a study showed that focusing on being grateful for five minutes a day can increase your long-term well being more than 10 percent. That’s the same impact as doubling your income! (that’s amazing)
2. Makes people like us – when we are grateful it rubs off on others and they notice it. People like to be surrounded by those who are grateful. It makes us nicer, more trusting, and smile (I love smiling).
3. Gratitude makes us less self-centered – speaking for myself, I can be very selfish at times. Once I started being more grateful I noticed less focus on myself, and more on others.
You see, being grateful isn’t difficult. In fact, none of these ideas I share are difficult, they are just small simple tasks that we need to incorporate in order to make it happen!
My challenge to you today is this: Describe something that happened today (or recently) that you are graciously grateful for! Write it down and share it with a friend!
Spread the grateful vibe around! I promise you once are more grateful, that is when we can truly start to grow out of our own personal bubble.
